Leia began her career as Director of Education for the Orlando Philharmonic Orchestra. During that time, she started several initiatives, including the Symphony Storytime Series, an interactive chamber music series created for young families. Leia was inspired to create stories after bringing in Matthew Gollub, author of the Jazz Fly, and seeing the power of a live author/audience connection.
In 2021, she published her first book, The Goldilocks Quartet a critically acclaimed story that showcases the power of music and its ability to cultivate unique friendships. Leia took a brief hiatus from writing to lead The Friends of Chamber Music in Kansas City but is now back to release her new book, The Odd Dog. The Odd Dog combines Leia's love of rescue dogs, storytelling, and advocacy as she plans to work with rescues and the pet industry to raise awareness about shelter dogs.
Leia lives in Riverside, MO with her husband, Drew, and their stubborn Schnauzer, Layla.
